Blankets donated to Warren Hospital

May — The women of Temple Covenant of Peace and B’nai Abraham Synagogue, both in Easton, along with several independent knitters, recently presented 54 lap blankets to Warren Hospital.

Since the group of knitters first started making blankets about four years ago, 222 have been donated to the hospital. An independent knitter, Josephine Astrab, is responsible for knitting a significant number of donated blankets.

New blankets have been given to patients in the Infusion Emergency Departments, as well as to clients at The Comfort Zone adult day care center.

New knitters are welcome to join the blanket-making effort. If interested, please call Gwen Jacobs at (908) 859-6509. Yarn to make the blankets has come from donations from hospital employees as well as the community.
